The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca (UASVMCN), in compliance with Romanian legislation, grants the following categories of budget funded scholarships: scholarships for stimulating academic performance (performance I,  performance II and performance III) and social welfare scholarships (semester-long, contextual), as well as externally funded scholarships (not included in the established budget): special scholarships and material welfare scholarships

COMMISSIONS FOR GRANTING SCHOLARSHIPS

Within UASVMCN structure, the University Commission for Scholarships,  the Faculty Commission for Scholarships and the Social Services are responsible for granting scholarships.

The University Commission for Scholarships is made of the Vice-rector on Social and student affairs, the Pro-deans on Social affairs from every faculty, The Representative of the Economic Department, The Representative of the Social Services and the Students’ prefect (members).

The commission has the following responsibilities:

  • validating and surveying the scholarship calendar for UASVMCN;
  • correspondingly dividing scholarship funds among faculties, according to the number of students comprised in the budget;
  • forwarding propositions related to modifying the financial amount of scholarships according to the university approved budget funds;
  • approving student lists benefitting from scholarships, for every faculty;
  • analysing and giving solutions to complaints not solved by the Faculty Commissions for Scholarships.

The Faculty Commission for Scholarships is made of the Pro-dean on social affairs (director), a Secretary, a Senate student representative, a Faculty Executive Board student representative and a Faculty student association representative (members).

The commission has the following responsibilities:

  • surveying the implementation of the scholarship calendar established by the University Commission for Scholarships;
  • correspondingly dividing scholarship funds among years of study and study programmes/specialisations, according to the number of students;
  • collecting the required documents for granting certain types of scholarships (performance, social welfare, special, etc.);
  • listing the students benefitting from scholarships from every faculty;
  • submitting the minimum weighted average grade for the meritorious scholarship II to the Faculty Executive Board;
  • analysing and finding solution to related complaints.

The following scholarship granting responsibilities are established for the Social Services:

  • establishing scholarship pay-rolls;
  • sending scholarship pay-rolls to the Economic Department for the corresponding payment;
  • monthly check up of faculty allotment into the designated scholarship funds.
