The research centres support the specific activities of bachelors\u2019 and master\u2019s study programmmes, thus contributing to creating worthy specialists befitting university\u2019s long-standing tradition, as well as the Rector\u2019s management plan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESEARCH DIRECTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Forestry Department<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Phenotype and genotype variation of seed trees in seed reserve.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing germination percentage in the case of forest seeds through various treatments and interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Sapling production technologies in forest nurseries (variations of nutritional substrata, grafting, propagation and layering methods).<\/li>\n<li>Contained production of forest and ornamental saplings and their crop growth integration.<\/li>\n<li>Individualised pruning meant to increase wood mass quality and volume.<\/li>\n<li>Interventions targeting natural regeneration stimulation as well as increasing and developing naturally sprung saplings areas<\/li>\n<li>Increasing the exploitation capacity of hunting resources through introducing cynegetic-supportive crops<\/li>\n<li>Studying forest species adaptation mechanisms to the main abiotic stress factors.<\/li>\n<li>Applying eco-protective technologies in forest exploitation and transport<\/li>\n<li>Risk factors and their effects on forest ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li>Management of forest ecosystem biodiversity.<\/li>\n<li>Modelling processes, informational and decision-taking fluxes in forest improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Biotechnological exploitation of non-wooden forest products.<\/li>\n<li>Installing and running technologies for agroforestry system.<\/li>\n<li>The ecology and management of urban ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li>Fungi diversity in forest ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li>Modern forest biomass investigation and management systems.<\/li>\n<li>Forestry informational systems.<\/li>\n<li>The ecology and cenology of marker plant species in forests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Department of Land Survey and Exact Sciences <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Processing, analysis and representation of geodetic data.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing integrated information grids\/systems meant to highlight cadastre works<\/li>\n<li>Satellite image processing and analysis with specialised software applications&nbsp; also used in smart territorial development.<\/li>\n<li>Cadastre use of UAS platforms<\/li>\n<li>Modern topographic survey methods for construction and terrain behaviour<\/li>\n<li>Optimising topo-geodetic methods for projecting and marking industrial and civil objectives.<\/li>\n<li>3D modelling of historical monuments using the Leica Scan Station.<\/li>\n<li>Research related to establishing digital cartographic databases for drawing plans and maps.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based on cartographic and remote sensing data meant to manage natural resources.<\/li>\n<li>Drawing risk and hazard maps in order to increase resilience in case of natural hazards<\/li>\n<li>Surveying bottom erosion along the thalweg<\/li>\n<li>Surveying the subsidence phenomena<\/li>\n<li>Designing webmaps for the study of terrain coverage\/use as well as thematic maps, with numerous view, analysis and interrogating possibilities, needed for the Transylvanian forestry and agricultural development and exploitation.<\/li>\n<li>Designing and updating the terrain elevation digital models for different resolutions and for creating secondary products (slopes, exposure, altitude floors, topographic profiles), necessary for projection and exploitation works in the field of forestry and life sciences.<\/li>\n<li>Developing a satellite, GPS or terrestrially-collected space databases management system, thematically specialised as support in facilitating the decision-making process for regional development.<\/li>\n<li>Designing and testing fusion methods and algorithms for space data collected from various data sources (remote sensing systems, cartographic documents, terrestrial survey systems, )<\/li>\n<li>Establishing a regional WebGIS portal for life sciences.<\/li>\n<li>Determining long-term behavioural technical parameters for hydrographic-improvement works by using topographic and photogrammetry equipment as well as an adequate, highly-performing software.<\/li>\n<li>Solar radiation interaction with crop plants and the effect of physical fields on agricultural ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li>Estimating the agricultural meteorologic and biophysical parameters for vegetation coverage, derived from satellite-collected data: soil surface temperature, real evapotranspiration, foliage index, biomass, spacial structure, vegetation indexes correlated to vegetation and phytosanitary stage of horticultural crops.<\/li>\n<li>Using geostatistics for time series analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Applying mathematical models, statistic data processing as well as information and bioinformation systems in life sciences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The research activities of the Faculty of Forestry and Cadastre is carried out in research labs and centres established by the UASVMCN Senate, fitted with state of the art equipment.
